Leesa (Louise) Weisner is an accomplished artist as well a veteran PADI Scuba Instructor. She has dove and led diving trips around the world. Her favorite dive site is Bonaire and her “home away from home” is Captain Don’s Habitat. As of 2022 she had led more than 148 dive trips to this island. A fact that has not gone unnoticed by the folks at Habitat. In 2011 Leesa was presented with a Certificate of Accomplishment by Habitat Founder Capt. Don Stewart. The Accolade Award states that Leesa has brought more than 128 dive groups to the island since 1977. Since that date she estimates she has added another 20 trips to that total. She is probably the most knowledgeable trip leader to Bonaire you could choose.
There is a conference center at Habitat named after her Dive Store “Aquarius” and a yellow rock marks the spot of a dive site named the same.
The Newport Aquarium Honored Leesa Wiesner for 2500 hours of volunteer service as part of a Volunteer Appreciation Event and Dinner held at the Aquarium on April 15, 2012. As of 2016 Leesa had over 4000 hours volunteering at the Newport Aquarium. An Aquarium record. She accepts these accomplishments with quiet reserve and actually was purposefully late for the award presentation.
